We are beyond excited to announce our collaboration in the launch of the new African School of Coffee (ASC).

We have invested deeply in developing coffee skills, experience, and passion across South Africa. ASC is a huge evolution to our project of empowering people through coffee. As a non-profit, our academy gathers funding that allows us to radically increase the impact we can have on the coffee and hospitality industries.

Origin alone has over 18 years of experience and has trained over 3,500 professional baristas across South Africa and beyond. Amongst those were 5 South African National Barista Champions, including Willem Pienaar (2007), Jose Vilandy (2008 – now head of Retention at Truth), Wayne Oberholzer (2012), Lovejoy Chirambasukwa (2013) - now GM of the Origin Cafe, and Winston Thomas (2017).
