About this coffee

A black honey lot from Gedeb, Ethiopia — processed with intention and full of character. Guava and pineapple sit at the front, with dark chocolate providing depth and delicate florals lifting the cup throughout. There's a citrus-like brightness that keeps things lively, all carried through a round, composed body. Complex, layered, and distinctly Ethiopian.

The region

Gedeb sits in Ethiopia’s southern highlands — a high-elevation growing area defined by its indigenous heirloom varieties and a landscape that consistently produces fruit-forward, expressive coffees. Here, altitude slows cherry maturation, allowing sugars to develop more fully, while fertile soils nourish the trees with the nutrients needed for complexity and balance. The result is a cup with heightened sweetness, vibrant acidity, and layered, clearly defined flavour — coffees that feel both structured and alive.

History of coffee in ETHIOPIA

Ethiopia is where coffee begins. As the birthplace of the plant, it carries a coffee culture unlike anywhere else in the world — deep-rooted, diverse, and shaped by generations of smallholder farmers cultivating indigenous heirloom varieties. These varieties, grown across a wide range of microclimates and elevations, produce an extraordinary spectrum of flavour. The result is coffees with unmatched clarity, complexity, and distinction — a range so expansive it continues to set the benchmark for the global specialty industry.
