About this coffee

A Red Bourbon from Kilimbi, Nyamasheke — anaerobic natural processed and unmistakably expressive. Blueberry and fig lead the way, with orange wine adding a distinctive, ferment-forward depth. Dried fruit sweetness runs throughout, anchored by a refined acidity that keeps the cup lively and structured.

The region

Nyamasheke District lines the shores of Lake Kivu in western Rwanda, where high elevation, fertile soils, and a temperate climate create ideal conditions for Red Bourbon cultivation. The coffees that come out of this area carry real clarity and structure — fruit-forward, well-defined, and shaped by some of the most consistent growing conditions on the continent.

History of coffee in RWANDA

Coffee arrived in Rwanda in the early 20th century and has since been quietly, steadily refined into one of Africa's most compelling specialty industries. Smallholder farmers and washing stations have been central to that evolution — driving improvements in processing and positioning Rwanda as a serious, quality-first origin that continues to gain the recognition it deserves.
